Preorder: One Million Eyes / Brama

Many of you will know I have a fondness for the Balearics; sunsets and lazy mediterranean summers. It was a big part of my musical upbringing and a style of music I still very much enjoy. It's also a musical aspect that the label has yet to explore, so I'm excited to finally present a record that goes some way to being inspired by, or stylistically attached to the times spent watching that golden glow against the horizon.

Today we announce the debut album from One Million Eyes. Previously together as Tempelhof, working with Gigi Masin on albums such as Tsuki (2016), and Hoshi (2014), Luciano and Paolo's new alias represents a progression in musical style and freedom.

Whilst it's easy to describe this album as 'Balearic', it goes much further than your usual stereotype. I feel both light and dark emotions throughout the record and Brama is just their first statement detailing the depth of emotion found amongst their arsenal as One Million Eyes.

Now available: Illuvia / Iridescence Of Clouds

I'm very excited to introduce our first record of 2021 and a return to the label for Ludvig Cimbrelius, under his Illuvia alias.

This record was born upon first hearing Ludvig's self-titled Illuvia album and in particular, the last track 'Illuvia (Exaltation)'. It's an absolutely immense, atmospheric drum'n bass tune, and left me yearning for more. So once I had picked my jaw up off the floor, I asked Ludvig to complete an entire record in this style for ASIP.

Not only has the result exceeded any expectations, but the journey has also been extremely gratifying, with Ludvig allowing me close to the progression of the album over the years (?!) and the rare chance for us to meet in person when he visited LA last summer, discussing the record in depth.

'Iridescence Of Clouds' evokes memories of falling in love with the classic, atmospheric side of drum'n bass whilst providing a completely new take on the genre with ambient at its heart.

2020 ASIP Label Showcase (Mixed Edition + CD)

ASIP2020 4 Panel CD Sleeve Mockup 08.png

After our successful 2019 edition, our annual label retrospective has now evolved in tradition to include a mixed edition available on CD (and of course digital).

Featuring one track from each of our 2020 releases, the digital download is now available alongside the CD, with the latter featuring a few additional tracks that aren’t available individually.

The artwork is always a personal choice for this compilation - and reflects my year in some way or another. This time, it features screen-grabs from a film that not only visually felt relevant, but captured the notion of everyone being inside - wishing to be somewhere else. I won’t say which film it was incase I get into issues, but lets just say it’s a heart-warming film about a man who did everything he could to escape reality and get in contact with others.

A big thank you to all of the artists for a brilliant year, and to you, for listening and supporting our music.

We also have a limited set of download cards available to purchase with this release - a perfect gift to introduce someone to the label maybe!

Available on Bandcamp.

Now available: Gadi Sassoon / Multiverse

Today we released the debut album from Gadi Sassoon, titled Multiverse.

Ever since I plugged this one in, strapped on my headphones and effectively continued to dismantle every neuron in my brain using the plethora of musical tactics Gadi employs in this album, I have been excited to present it to the world.

Look out for a podcast where we aim to go into detail on the story behind the album so you can start to grasp the enormity of the effort, team and people behind the music on this one. but until then, have a listen on Bandcamp or your preferred service, and snap up the dark matter 2LP.

Today we announced the debut album from Gadi Sassoon, titled Multiverse.

I still remember the moment I first sat back and absorbed this demo. I had little idea how it was made or the story behind it (I put the music first) but it blew my socks off. Crazy, unexpected sounds, twist and turns, rooted in a deep sense of atmosphere. It wasn’t until I got back to Gadi and we met up in LA that I started to understand the massive amount of detail, history and effort that went into this album. It’s one-of-a-kind, and for some, maybe a little startling, but for many, it will undoubtedly go down as a future classic in its ambition and innovation. Call it experimental in function, ambient in form and soundtrack in nature - it’s a beast best absorbed in either one of Gadi’s performances, or loud on a great system at home.
